Meatball Sub Casserole

This is a fun, easy recipe that everyone in your family is sure to love! It’s full of great Italian flavor, and it’s easy to throw together.

You need:

1/3 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup Italian bread crumbs
1 pound ground beef
3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
5 slices of Italian bread, cut one inch thick
1 (8oz) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups shredded mozzarella, divided
1 (24 oz) jar spaghetti sauce
1 cup water
1 heaping teaspoon of diced garlic

Combine onions, bread crumbs, and Parmesan cheese in a large bowl. Crumble ground beef over top. Knead the mixture thoroughly. Form into one inch balls and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Arrange slices of bread in a 9″ x 13″ casserole dish that’s been sprayed with non-stick spray. Combine cream cheese, mayo, Italian seasoning, and pepper. Spread over the bread. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese. Mix together water, spaghetti sauce, and garlic. Add the cooked meatballs and stir. Pour on top of bread and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Yum, yum!
