Valentine Fruit Torte

This is a delicious dessert recipe that would be a perfect gift for your sweetie this Valentine’s Day. One great thing about it is that you can easily change the pie filling flavor for variety. Give it a try! Just make sure you plan ahead–the finished product is supposed to chill in the fridge overnight.

You need:

2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 stick melted butter
12 ounces softened cream cheese
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (21ounce) can pie filling
1/2 teaspoon almond extract

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the butter and graham cracker crumbs until you have a uniform consistency. Press down evenly into a 9″ springform pan and up the sides to form a crust. Bake in oven at 300 degrees for 15 minutes. Allow the crust to cool completely. With a mixer, combine cream cheese and powdered sugar. Set aside. Using the mixer, whip the cream until stiff peaks form. Fold in sugar and vanilla. Spread cream cheese mixture on top of cooled crust. Sprinkle evenly with pecans. Carefully spread the whipped cream on top. In a small mixing bowl, combine pie filling with almond extract. Spread on top of whipped cream. Refrigerate overnight. Enjoy! *For Valentine’s Day, I used cherry pie filling. Very festive!
