Green Eggs and….Chicken!


I have really wanted a Green Egg Smoker for a few years now. The problem is, they are very expensive. To get one the size I want is over $1500. That is not a problem for me, but I am trying not to contribute to the already staggering divorce statistics in this country. A few months ago, a friend and I took on a project just for fun to see if we could replicate the functionality of a water smoker. We took an old file cabinet that was no longer in use and made a water smoker. While it isn’t solid ceramic, it actually worked out really well. It is a five-drawer cabinet with the bottom drawer serving as the firebox. Next up from that is where the water pan goes. The top three drawers are fitted with cast iron porcelain coated grates.
