Snickerdoodles

Everyone loves snickerdoodles, and this is an especially great recipe. With a chewy, golden outside, and a soft, melt-in-your-mouth inside, these cookies leave people begging for more. Add the fact that this recipe makes 3-5 dozen cookies, and you’ve got yourself one winner of a cooky recipe!

You need:

1 cup of softened butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
5 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons cream of tartar

Cream together the butter and sugar. Add oil, eggs, and vanilla. Mix the dry ingredients together. Add to the wet ingredients, mixing well. Allow to chill in the refrigerator for one hour. Mix one cup of sugar with two tablespoons of cinnamon. Roll dough into balls and dip into sugar/cinnamon mixture. Place balls onto cookie sheet, and smash flat with the bottom of a drinking glass. Bake at 350, keeping a close eye so that they don’t get too crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to cooling rack. Refrigerate dough between batches.
