You will need:
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
1 28oz can of crushed tomatoes.
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 pkg Johnsonville Italian sausage Hot or Mild. (I prefer Hot)
5 to 7 leaves fresh basil
1 box of linguini
If you have a grill, this is the best way to cook ANY meat! If not, cook sausage on cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 20 minutes turning halfway through. In a medium saucepan, combine olive oil, garlic and red pepper flakes over medium heat. KEEP AN EYE ON THIS! The red pepper and garlic will burn easily. When garlic is golden brown, pour in crushed tomatoes and cayenne pepper; reduce heat to simmer stirring periodically until ready for use. Salt and pepper to taste. Portion pasta on each plate, pour the sauce over the pasta with one link of the sausage. Garnish with the basil. (to be eaten) Serve immediately as the basil will wilt quickly. Enjoy!
